Meet Marcus

Marcus Jamieson-Pond was born in 1963 in Cheltenham.

After moving to the Midlands, his family returned to Gloucestershire in his early teens. He spent the next few years looking forward to a day when he would be able to escape from the country.

His time in London was a stepping stone before studying at Oxford (Poly).

Marcus now lives in Watford with his wife, children and cat colony. As well as writing, and ghost-writing, he is a professional photographer and acts as a corporate conscience to businesses, having previously spent too long working in glass and marble offices in the City of London.

Hotel 1982 was written during the lockdown of 2021. The story took four days to write, although it has been brewing for nearly 40 years.
